ANSI Z15 Safety Requirements for Motor Vehicle Fleet Operations

The ANSI Z15 committee is the newest Accredited Standards Committee for which ASSE acts as secretariat. The committee has meet on occasions, the first on December 7, 2001 & the second June 28, 2002. During the second meeting the committee decided to draft a mission statement, which would set the stage for further preliminary writing and act as a formal description of the Z15 standard. The mission statement is as follows:

"To establish management practices for the safe operation of motor vehicle fleets. Practices will include but is not limited to driver hiring, and training, operational practices, and data collection and vehicle maintenance."

Scope: This Accredited Standard Committee sets forth safety requirements for the operation of motor vehicle fleets, including, but not limited to, nomenclature, definition, data gathering, statistical analysis, inspection, maintenance, training, and other related equipment and functions of motor vehicle fleet operations.
