OSHA NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR OCCUPATIONAL Dear Ms. Goodell: Following is the nomination of Margaret Carroll for reappointment to serve on the OSHA National Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH). As you are aware from previous ASSE correspondence to OSHA, the American
Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) with almost 33,000 members has been
committed to the protection of people, property, and the environment since
1911. Part of this commitment includes providing Society input to our
national leaders. The Society believes that national agencies such as
OSHA maintain a necessary national focus on occupational safety and health.
Accordingly, the national committee representatives who advise OSHA will
play a key role in the maintenance of this focus.
A review of Ms. Carroll's contributions to NACOSH speaks to why she warrants reappointment. OSHA would be hard pressed to find an individual with more overall professional safety experience, integrity, and dedication than Ms. Carroll. In fact, these are the very reasons why the Society initially nominated her as a candidate for this most important position in 1996. Thank you for your time and consideration. If we may be of further assistance in facilitating a meeting, or providing additional information please do not hesitate to contact the Society. Sincerely,
