ASSE honored Samantha J. Horseman from Saudi Arabia with its 2017 Award for Innovation in Occupational Safety Management during a ceremony at Safety 2017. The award honors those who bring creativity to managing safety in the workplace. Her winning innovation is a driver safety management system called Intellisense.

ASSE and Sinopec partner to advance workplace safety globally

ASSE and Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation today signed a bilateral agreement for cooperation during Safety 2017 in Denver. The signing ceremony was part of the annual Global Presidential Reception attended by ASSE’s Board of Directors and international attendees from more than 40 countries.​

House of Delegates supports ASSE’s new name while keeping current logo

A significant step was taken toward a new name for ASSE when its House of Delegates voted in favor of a title that better reflects its diverse membership. The proposed new name is the American Society of Safety Professionals, which now heads to an electronic membership vote that spans 45 days.

CSHS names Advisory Council chair and new member

The Center for Safety and Health Sustainability names Darryl C. Hill as its new Advisory Council chair, and Malcolm Staves as its newest Advisory Council member. Hill succeeds Zack Mansdorf, whose term is ending. Mansdorf had chaired the council since the Center’s inception in 2011 in addition to serving on its Board of Directors.

Safety 2017 to deliver record attendance, insightful programs in Denver

More than two weeks before Safety 2017 in Denver, ASSE already knows this year’s turnout will rank No. 1 in the event’s 56-year history. Registrations have climbed to 4,730, and the event has a chance to exceed 5,000 attendees. ASSE’s previous record crowd occurred at Safety 2011 in Chicago, which attracted 4,535 participants.
