Manager, Chapter Services

Position Summary:

Opportunity for a performance-driven, enthusiastic, self-motivated team player.  This position is responsible for managing chapter services (both global and domestic) including operations and reporting for over 150 chapters and sections, budgeting, volunteer committee management, volunteer services including training, orientation, recognition and performance management, chapter virtual services and communications, best practices sharing, counseling and building relationships with volunteer leaders, keeping the pulse on chapter needs to continually advance and develop products and services to improve the member experience.  This position also includes management of an annual volunteer Leadership Conference, House of Delegates Meeting, chapter related events associated with the ASSE Annual Conference, and management of one staff Coordinator.


  • 5+ years of experience in association management OR corporate customer engagement management
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Strong customer service philosophy
  • Ability to develop relationships with volunteers
  • Ability to influence others to achieve a business objective
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to formulate new, creative ideas based on data
  • Experience developing business plans and managing budgets/forecasts
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Effective project management and analytical skills
  • Framework of knowledge for association management or CRM software in addition to social networking outlets and virtual learning technologies
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Some travel required
