Platform Statement

Chapter leaders and volunteers are the backbone of ASSE.  My primary goal as Region III South Area Director will be to make their job easier while achieving a higher level of success.

“Many hands make light work.”  As Area Director of Region III South I will:

  1. Inform and assist all of our chapters to maximize existing tools and resources.
  2. Improve communication between chapters to leverage individual chapter successes to all chapters.
  3. Increase volunteers within our chapters to lessen the burden on chapter leadership, develop members, and ultimately, create a “leadership pipeline.”

In today’s economic climate every business is looking for efficiency.  At ASSE we must follow that trend.  Maximizing our efforts through technology, micro volunteerism, and communication is vital to ASSE’s mission of advancing its members and the EHS profession.

I will ensure we live that mission at the chapter level.  We should be passionately pursuing advancement of our members and the profession every day, everywhere.  That may come in the form of helping someone find a job, or working with local universities, non-profits and governments to increase the stature of the HSE profession, or serving our community.

It is easy to talk about doing these things, but much more difficult to get it done.  I hope you give me the opportunity to be your servant leader as the Region III South Area Director role to do just that – get it done.
