Platform Statement

I have been privileged to serve as the Vice President Finance for the past year.  Prior to that, I served as Region VII Vice President for four years.  I have been a Society member since 1992 and have served in many other capacities at both the society level and in my Region and Chapter.  I have benefitted most from being an active, involved member of the Society.  Receiving the nomination for this role is a sign of confidence in my knowledge and skills and what I can do to help members of the Society to attain the Society’s vision.  It also means a tremendous amount to me to have employer support to pursue nomination to Society Office for ASSE.  That signifies recognition of the value ASSE brings to employers and safety professionals they employ.

Our organization maintains a strong financial position – critical to achieving our mission and vision.  The economic environment will continue to provide challenges for the Society and understanding that will allow continued growth while we provide relevant services to our members.  Our global reputation and recognition continues to grow and financing global growth while meeting the needs of our current members is a constant challenge.    ASSE must remain at the forefront of technology and provide effective and convenient opportunities to its members.  We must help members be prepared to lead the safety effort within their organizations and help to demonstrate that a strong SH&E program brings value beyond measure.
