Platform Statement

I have been involved in ASSE activities for over a decade including being a leader in the creation of the new online Body of Knowledge (BoK) project. As VP of CoPS I have responsibility for the growth of this project. We currently have over 7,000 knowledge assets available to all of our members which can be accessed for free at www.safetybok.org. The next plan for growth of the BoK is to create short “how-to” and “just in time” informational videos for our members seeking to get quick updates/overviews on hundreds of crucial safety topics.

I have been working very hard with volunteer leaders and staff to provide numerous avenues to motivate and engage you as a member to exchange your knowledge and experience with our other 35,000+ members. We are expanding our knowledge exchange on current technical content outside of our Council to reach members in Chapters and Regions. I am also working closely with other ASSE Councils on the new Risk Assessment Institute, the Business of Safety Committee, and the Center on Safety and Health Sustainability to demonstrate the value of our profession. The ultimate benefit to you from these efforts is the recognition from your employer and/or clients that you are a strategic asset who delivers sustainable value to their organization.

I have worked hard to earn your trust and ask that you re-elected me as the VP of CoPS so I can continue to deliver value to our membership and the safety profession. We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. It is time we make our shoulders available to those who follow us in the profession. I promise to continue to work hard to breakdown communication silos within our Society, to unlock the knowledge and experience within our profession, and deliver measurable value to all of our members.
