Applications International Corporation Donates Nearly $15,000 for Scholarships Toward Students Pursuing Degrees in Occupational Safety and Health

DES PLAINES, IL (June 15, 2012) — The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE)
Foundation is pleased to announce the winners of the 2012 Applications
International Corporation Scholarship.

This marks the second year that Applications International has
awarded scholarships through the ASSE Foundation for students pursuing degrees
in safety, health, and the environment (SH&E). Their contribution of $14,700
funds five scholarships of $2,750 each. Graduate and undergraduate students are
eligible; priority is given to those who have served in the military.

Winners of the 2012 Applications International Corporation Scholarship are:

  • Brian Welch, an undergraduate student in Mechanical Engineering
    Technology with an emphasis on design at Pittsburgh State University.
  • Ryan Russell, an undergraduate student in Industrial Safety at the
    University of Central Oklahoma (Edmond).
  • Benjamin McCloskey, an undergraduate in Safety Sciences at Indiana
    University of Pennsylvania.
  • Joseph Post, an undergraduate student in Occupational Safety and
    Environmental Health at Millersville University in Pennsylvania.
  • Joshuwa Jones, an MA candidate in Occupational and Environmental
    Safety and Health at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Jones is also
    pursuing his Occupational Ergonomics Certificate.

The ASSE Foundation, established by and in partnership
with ASSE, generates funding and provides resources for scholarship, applied
research, academic accreditation and related academic initiative in order to
