Center for Safety and Health Sustainability Repeats its Calls on Organizations to Improve Supply Chain Standards
The Center for Safety and Health Sustainability, representing health and safety professionals from across the world, is actively working to raise awareness, improve standards in workplace safety, and save lives. In light of the tragic deaths of 350 garment workers, the Center repeats its calls on:
• All large corporations to review their procurement standards and take urgent action to improve standards throughout their supply chains.
• All organizations engaged in setting standards, operating ‘ranking schemes’ or providing third party audits to ensure that adequate health and safety is an integral part of their systems.
• And finally, all customers and investors to ask more probing questions about working conditions of those providing goods and services.
