NIEHS Develops Nanomaterial Research Program

Posted in on Tue, Nov 19, 2013

In support of National Nanotechnology Initiative, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) has developed an integrated, strategic research program, “ONE Nano: NIEHS’s Strategic Initiative on the Health and Safety Effects of Engineered Nanomaterials” to increase understanding of how engineered nanomaterials (ENM) interact with living systems, to develop predictive models for quantifying ENM exposure and assessing ENM health impacts, and to guide the design of second-generation ENMs to minimize adverse health effects.
