2007-08 President's Award Winners

Thomas Cecich, CSP, CIH, president, TFC & Associates. Under his leadership as chair of the Society’s Government Affairs Committee, the group has transformed its focus from advocacy to influencing legislative and regulatory standards on behalf of ASSE and the profession. Cecich is a professional member of the North Carolina Chapter.
Darryl Hill, CSP, vice president, safety and health, North America, ABB Inc. Hill, a professional member of the Greater Detroit Chapter, was recognized for his service as Vice President, Finance, and for his work on projects such as chapter affiliation/incorporation and the global dues structure.
Cynthia Lewis, principal, Creative Safety Solutions. Lewis, a professional member of the Gulf Coast Chapter, was awarded for her role on the Public Relations Committee, and for her consistent influence and service to young people through NAOSH Week and the Youth Rules! program.
Michael Messner, CSP, CFPS, loss control consultant, Union Standard Insurance Co. Messner was recognized for his continuing service as administrator of ASSE’s Fire Protection Branch and for his many years of service to Region III. Messner is a professional member of the Oklahoma City Chapter.
James Morris, III, assistant director, school plant services, Virginia Beach City Public Schools. Morris, a professional member of the Greater Tidewater Chapter, was honored for his leadership as chair of several task forces focused on global growth, and for helping to create a new structure of affiliating chapters outside the U.S. with the Society’s regional structure.
Linda Rhodes, CSP, general manager, system safety, Chicago Transit Authority. Rhodes was recognized for her role with the Diversity and Finance committees, and the Leadership Conference. She is a professional member of the Greater Chicago Chapter.
Tim Fisher, CSP, ARM, CPEA, director, practices and standards, ASSE. Fisher, a professional member of the Northeastern Illinois Chapter, was honored for his ongoing efforts to grow and develop technical, knowledge-based materials for ASSE members.
Dave Heidorn, J.D., manager, government affairs and policy, ASSE. Over the past few years, Heidorn has guided the Government Affairs Committee as it has realized ever-increasing influence among government decision makers.
Terry Wilkinson, Ph.D., CSP, CAE, director, member/region affairs, ASSE. Wilkinson was recognized for dedicating many hours to furthering the Society’s global growth focus by guiding the International Membership, Most of the World and Global Task Force. Wilkinson is a professional member of the Northeastern Illinois Chapter.
