ASSE, as secretariat of the A10 ANSI Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) for Construction and Demolition Operations, has continued to receive a number of inquiries related to ANSI/ASSE A10.17-2006 American National Standard: Safe Operating Practices for Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Construction.
Due to these inquiries, we have put together a “guide” for those with interest.
Title: Safe Operating Practices for Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Construction
Scope: Applies to those operations involving hot mix asphalt (bituminous) mixtures and materials for construction and resurfacing. Safe work practices are included for the protection of workers and the public and are to be considered the vital safety requirements for designers, manufacturers and installers of such equipment and materials.
Past versions of the standard were released in 1975 and in 1997.
