Arc-Flash Hazard Analysis

The ASSE Technical Conference Series provides listeners with the most up to date information on issues that significantly impact the SH&E profession. On Wednesday, April 18, at 11:00 AM CST John Kolak will present “Arc Flash Hazard Analysis.”

Protecting Electrical Workers from the devastating effects of electrical arcs and blasts is one of the most pressing electrical safety issue today faced by SH&E professionals. NFPA 70E requires that employers conduct an Arc-Flash Hazard Analysis (AFHA) to properly assess the risk associated with work on exposed energized parts. In this interactive presentation, you will learn the AFHA processes and strategies to protect electrical workers from arc-flash injuries and fatalities on the job. The presentation will last approximately 60 minutes and will be followed by 30 minutes of questions and answers.

The presenter is John Kolak, President of Praxis Corporation. John is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with 29 years of experience in industry. He is an award-winning author and has published internationally on the subjects of Electrical Safety and Managerial Safety. John holds Bachelors degrees in Electrical Engineering and Management and a Masters degree in Occupational Safety.

Participants in the “live” conference call via webinar are eligible for .15 CEU upon completion of all requirements, which include completing the on-line evaluation and on-line participation in polls, feedback and/or assessment sessions. A link to a post-session assessment will be emailed to all registered participants following the live conference event.
