Arnold Timothy Galpin, P.E., is Engineering Manager for SPANCO Rigid Lifelines in Morgantown, PA. He heads the engineering and R&D department, developing rigid horizontal lifeline fall arrest, fall restraint and fall protection solutions.
Galpin serves on four ANSI/ASSE Z359 Fall Protection standards subcommittees. He has served as Engineering Chair for four years for the Monorail Manufacturers Association (MMA), providing oversight of ANSI standards MH27.1 and MH27.2. There he received a special recognition award for his efforts in authoring policy and leading the development of the association’s MMA certified program advancing ANSI standards and MMA quality.
He serves on the engineering committee for the Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA) developing CMAA standards 70 and 74. He is also a member of the safety and health technology committee for the Association for Iron and Steel Technology (AIST) and is a member of the International Society of Fall Protection (ISFP).
Galpin is a P.E. licensed in multiple states. He has over 20 years of experience engineering safety components compliant to OSHA, ANSI and European Machinery Directives. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University.
