ANSI/ASSE A10.16-1995 (R2001) – BACKGROUND MATERIALS

< Back

ASSE, as secretariat of the A10 ANSI Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) for Construction and Demolition Operations, has continued to receive a number of inquiries related to the ANSI/ASSE A10.16-1995 (R2001): Safety Requirements for Tunnels, Shafts, and Caissons.

Due to these inquiries, we have put together a “guide” for those with interest.

Title: Safety Requirements for Tunnels, Shafts, and Caissons

Scope: This standard establishes safety requirements for the construction of tunnels, shafts, and caissons. The requirements set forth in this standard cover environmental control; related facilities; fire prevention; hoisting; haulage; electrical drilling and blasting, and compressed-air work. This standard does not apply to mining or quarrying operations.

A past version of the standard was released in 1988.
