There are many ways you can communicate with your state and local government representatives about occupational health and safety-related issues. Although you should always strive to correspond directly with the legislator, bear in mind that when you contact a state or federal legislator’s office, you will likely be communicating with someone on the staff. Whichever way you choose to make contact, it is important to establish a clear and concise message that the reader can easily share with fellow staff, and ultimately, the legislator.
