This year’s winner of the Thomas F. Bresnahan Standards Medal is Mr. Jim E. Lapping. Jim has dedicated literally decades of his life to safeguarding people, property, and the environment through his work in developing national voluntary consensus standards

Jim served as senior advisor to Assistant Secretary of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration on construction and engineering issues pertaining to major construction accidents, standards interpretation, standards promulgation, settlement agreements, enforcement policies and procedures. Review accident investigation/analysis reports to ensure comprehensiveness and technical adequacy of penalty assessment and abatement agreements
