ASSE Body of Knowledge (BoK)

ASSE’s BoK is the sum of knowledge within the safety, health and environmental (SH&E) profession. It includes proven and accepted traditional practices, emerging innovative practices as well as published and unpublished material. It is a living body of information that requires updating and maintenance to remain current.

ASSE’s BoK is a “Knowledge Exchange Platform” for SH&E professionals. The search function on the ASSE homepage is just the beginning of your search for knowledge, and we hope you will use the BoK to think, learn and grow as an SH&E professional.

BoK Task Force

The BoK Task Force is a dissemination and distribution source of professional information regarding ASSE’s efforts to enhance safety, health and the environment. The task force coordinates the generation of documents and guidance materials through the Vice President of the Council on Practices & Standards. The task force is also responsible for monitoring BoK-related issues to identify matters of Society interest, review appropriate BoK-related materials and recommend BoK technical statements for review by the Council.
