Jay Brakensiek

Jay Brakensiek is the Environmental Health and Safety Manager at the Claremont University Consortium and is a longtime member of both ASSE and the Environmental Practice Specialty, of which he is Assistant Administrator. He is also an active member of ASSE’s Orange County Chapter.

Over the years, Brakensiek has volunteered his time and has worked diligently to assist EPS in achieving its goals. In his position with the Claremont University Consortium, he develops chemical laboratory safety and occupational health and safety programs. This commitment to improve the health and safety of people and the environment has been evident throughout his career. He continually works to understand, develop and promulgate ethical and effective leadership in individuals, teams and organizations, especially in the areas of environmental health and safety.

Brakensiek is a published author and a frequent presenter at ASSE’s annual Professional Development Conferences, having spoken on topics, such as pandemic influenza preparation and chemical process safety management.
