The Engineering Practice Specialty is the premier resource for technical knowledge and expertise related to engineering issues.
This practice specialty has played a major role in the development of examination questions used by the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. It promotes the advancement of occupational safety, health and environmental (SH&E) practices, and it also fosters the well-being of its members. The Engineering Practice Specialty provides a forum for members to discuss strategies and research that address the needs of practicing engineers.
The practice specialty publishes a periodic newsletter to assist in members' continuing education, and it encourages its members to contribute articles to ASSE's Professional Safety journal and to other technical publications.
The Engineering Practice Specialty sponsors technical sessions at the annual Professional Development Conference, during which time the James A. Brodrick Engineering Safety Professional of the Year Award is presented.
