OSHA Wants to Extend E-Recordkeeping Compliance Deadline

OSHA is seeking to delay the compliance date of its e-recordkeeping rule from July 1, 2017, to Dec. 1, 2017. The agency published the final rule on May 12, 2016, and says the delay "is appropriate for the purpose of additional review into questions of law and policy."

To comment on the proposed extension, visit the federal e-rulemaking portal. Comments are due by July 13, 2017.

In addition, the agency says it will issue a separate proposal to reconsider, revise or remove other provisions of the prior final rule. OSHA will seek comment on those provisions in that separate proposal.
