CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS SUPPORT OCCUPATIONAL
SAFETY AND HEALTH RESEARCH, EDUCATION
DES PLAINES, IL (April
15, 2003) - The San Francisco Chapter of the American Society of Safety
Engineers (ASSE) recently donated $1,000 to the ASSE Foundation for research,
scholarships and professional development grants in the occupational safety,
health and environmental field.
Established in 1935, the ASSE San Francisco Chapter has over 400 members
throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Napa, San Francisco,
San Mateo and Sonoma counties in California.
San Francisco Chapter President Tanil Matosian of San Ramon, CA, said, "The
San Francisco Chapter is proud to help the ASSE Foundation in advancing
the occupational safety, health and environmental profession and preventing
workplace injuries, illnesses and fatalities."
Chartered in 1990, the ASSE Foundation is committed to ensuring the future
of the occupational safety and health profession by providing financial
resources to individuals and organizations. This year the Foundation will
award nearly $50,000 in annual scholarships to occupational safety, health
and environment college students. Funding for the Foundation comes from
corporations and voluntary donations from ASSE members - individual and
through chapters countrywide for applied safety research, scholarships,
fellowships, internships and professional development. For more information
