ST. LOUIS SAFETY PROFESSIONALS SUPPORT EDUCATION, RESEARCH

St. Louis Chapter members Jack Vetter and Chris Patton present a $1,000 donation to ASSE Executive Director Fred Fortman for the ASSE Foundation.

- The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Foundation recently received a $1,000 donation from ASSE's St. Louis Chapter. The donation will be used for research, education and professional development programs in the occupational safety, health and environmental field.

St. Louis Chapter president Chris Patton of Maryland Heights, MO, presented the donation along with Region V vice president Jack Vetter, P.E., CSP, of St. Peters, MO, to the ASSE Foundation September 13 at ASSE's headquarters in Des Plaines, IL.

"We support the ASSE Foundation and its continuing mission of advancing the safety profession and protecting the safety and health of all Americans," said Patton, on behalf of the St. Louis Chapter's over 470 members located throughout Missouri.

Chartered in 1990, the ASSE Foundation is committed to ensuring the future of the occupational safety and health profession by providing financial resources to individuals and organizations. This year the Foundation will award nearly $50,000 in annual scholarships to occupational safety, health and environment college students. Funding for the Foundation comes from corporations and voluntary donations from ASSE members - individual and through chapters countrywide for applied safety research, scholarships, fellowships, internships and professional development.
