APPLAUDS THE DAIMLERCHRYSLER CORPORATION FUND'S
CONTINUED COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

DES PLAINES, IL (January 8, 2002) -- The DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund, committed to supporting workplace safety, donated $25,000 to the American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation (ASSEF) this week. This is its third consecutive gift of $25,000 to the ASSEF in support of the safety profession.

This contribution will help greatly as the ASSE Foundation continues to work toward elevating safety awareness in the workplace, fostering future safety and health professionals through scholarships and funding applied research aimed at protecting people, property and the environment.

"Hundreds of students from around the country and from all walks of life benefit significantly from contributions from safety-focused organizations such as the DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund as they pursue their academic studies in occupational safety and health," ASSE Foundation Chair Edwin P. Granberry, Jr., FAIC, CES, said today. "We commend them for continuing their commitment to giving many the opportunity to continue their education and research and to bring their expertise and findings to the workplace, eventually helping everyone, everywhere improve their quality of life."

), through contributions from individual ASSE members, corporations, ASSE chapters, regions and practice specialty groups, is dedicated to supporting the advancement of the safety profession and protecting the safety and health of the public.
