MARSH INC INTENSIFIES COMMITMENT TO SAFETY EDUCATION, AMERICAN SOCIETY OF SAFETY ENGINEERS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

     DES PLAINES, IL (April 6, 2005) — Marsh Inc. today donated $10,000 to the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Foundation, supporting future safety and health professionals through the annual Marsh Risk Consulting Scholarship. The ASSE Foundation also announced this year's scholarship recipient Lauren Robbins of Breckinridge , KY , who is an Occupational Safety and Health undergraduate at Murray State University , Murray , KY.

ASSE Foundation Chair Kennith D. Brock, CSP, said, "Through Marsh Inc.'s generosity, this scholarship fund will aid students in their efforts to prevent on-the-job injuries and illnesses through a career in safety and health."

Each year the ASSE Foundation awards a $5,000 scholarship through this fund. This year's Marsh Risk Consulting Scholarship will be awarded during ASSE's annual Professional Development Conference and Exposition in New Orleans this June. Applicants must be an ASSE student member, have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 out of 4.0, are currently enrolled in 12 or more semester hours, and have completed at least 60 semester hours.
