ORANGE COUNTY SAFETY PROFESSIONALS SUPPORT EDUCATION, RESEARCH
DES PLAINES, IL (July 15, 2003) --- The Anaheim,
California-based Orange County Chapter of the American Society of Safety
Engineers (ASSE) recently presented $1,000 to the ASSE Foundation for
occupational safety, health and environmental scholarships, research and
professional development grants.
The Orange County Chapter includes over 350 safety professionals from
various companies and industries in the surrounding area. The chapter
is a long-time supporter of the ASSE Foundation and its mission of advancing
the safety, health and environmental profession.
Chartered in 1990, the ASSE Foundation is committed to ensuring the future
of the occupational safety and health profession by providing financial
resources to individuals and organizations. This year the Foundation awarded
nearly $60,000 in annual scholarships to occupational safety, health and
environment college students. Funding for the Foundation comes from corporations
and voluntary donations from ASSE members - individual and through chapters
countrywide for applied safety research, scholarships, fellowships, internships
