New Hampshire’s Kennith Brock Receives American Society of Safety Engineers’ Distinguished Service Award
|Des Plaines, IL (May 19, 2009) — The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Foundation recently announced that former ASSE Foundation Chair Kennith D. Brock, CSP, of Laconia, NH, will receive the Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award for helping the ASSE Foundation flourish over the years due to his leadership, strategic thinking and commitment to the occupational safety, health and environmental profession.
During Brock’s tenure at the ASSE Foundation, he helped to create a scholarship endowment program that has grown to more than $1.7 million today. He was also instrumental in negotiating large contributions from corporate donors. In addition, he successfully implemented a model for the ASSE Foundation’s annual golf outing, which has netted the Foundation nearly $40,000 in three years.
In addition to serving as ASSE Foundation chair from 2004 – 2007, Brock has been a professional member of ASSE for more than 30 years. He is also a member of ASSE’s Granite State Chapter and ASSE’s Consultants and Risk Management/Insurance Practice Specialties. He currently serves as senior partner for Strategic Safety Solutions, LLC.
The ASSE Foundation Distinguished Service Award recipients are chosen by the Foundation chair based on their outstanding achievement, commitment to and support of the ASSE Foundation. The award will be presented during ASSE’s House of Delegates (HOD) meeting at the ASSE Annual Professional Development Conference in San Antonio, TX, which takes place June 28 – July 1, 2009.
