To Further Safety and Health Education, Washington Division of URS Donates Funds to American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation
Des Plaines, IL (March 26, 2006) — In continued support of safety, health and environmental education and research, the Washington Division of URS recently donated $5,350 to the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Foundation to fund a $5,000 safety and health scholarship, an internship that includes salary and living expenses, and an opportunity for the recipient to attend ASSE’s annual Professional Development Conference (PDC) to be held in San Antonio, TX on June 28 – July 1, 2009.

“We are very happy to continue with our scholarship program through the ASSE Foundation,” said Washington Division of URS Vice President, Environmental Safety, Health & Security Bradley D. Giles, P.E., CSP. “This process provides a great opportunity to support the academic pursuits of a talented young safety professional.”

This year’s scholarship recipient will be announced in early April.
