UPS Donates $35K to American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation for Safety and Health Scholarships
Des Plaines, IL (March 18, 2009) — In continued support of safety, health and environmental education, UPS recently donated $35,000 to the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Foundation to fund safety and health scholarships and the opportunity for scholarship recipients to attend ASSE’s annual Professional Development Conference (PDC) to be held in San Antonio, TX on June 28 – July 1, 2009.

The donation will fund six scholarships including four $5,250 UPS/David Iden Memorial Safety Scholarships as well as two $5,250 UPS Diversity Scholarships for students with a minority ethnic or racial group background. This year’s scholarship winners will be announced in early April.
