Registration now open for Ultimate Safety Standards Palooza in September

08/22/2017

PARK RIDGE, Illinois — In this time of regulatory uncertainty, voluntary national consensus standards from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) play a critical role in moving the occupational safety and health (OSH) profession forward. OSH professionals need better access to these impactful standards and must become knowledgeable about how to apply them. That's why ASSE is offering the Ultimate Safety Standards Palooza, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 27.

The unique one-day event includes access to four 90-minute webinars as well as 30-day access to download and save all 80 ANSI/ASSE standards, valued at more than $8,000. Registration is $1,250 for ASSE members, and $1,500 for non-members. Early birds save $250 by signing up by Friday, Aug. 25. Registration is for one user only and can’t be purchased as a package to share with other employees and clients. Get signed up at learn.asse.org.

“We’ve got some great experts lined up for the webinars, and getting an electronic copy of every ANSI/ASSE standard in one shot is an amazing opportunity we’ve never offered before,” said Tim Fisher, director of standards and technical services at ASSE. “This is a big deal for the occupational safety and health professional.”

Each webinar will feature a 75-minute presentation and 15-minute question and answer period. Here’s a breakdown of the day’s four webinars and the safety and health experts involved in each:

♦  A general overview of ANSI/ASSE standards by Adele L. Abrams, Esq., CMSP, an attorney and president of a full-service law firm focusing on occupational and mine safety and health, employment, and environmental law.

♦  Fall protection standards, including Z359, with Thomas E. Kramer, P.E., CSP, managing principal at LJB Inc., with more than 20 years of experience in the safety and health field.

♦  Z490, Z10 and Prevention Through Design standards featuring John W. Mroszczyk, Ph.D., P.E., CSP, founder of Northeast Consulting Engineers, with more than 35 years of design, safety and engineering experience; and Kathy Seabrook, CSP, CFIOSH, EurOSHM, founder and president of Global Solutions Inc., with more than 30 years of safety and health management experience in U.S. and international sectors.

♦  Construction and demolition standards, including A10, with Michael Weatherred, HSE director of Fluor Constructors, who has worldwide experience in construction and demolition operations that include business lines such as infrastructure and industrial services.

Following the Ultimate Safety Standards Palooza, registrants will have access to the session recordings in their Learn@ASSE online dashboard. Participants will earn 0.8 continuing education credits.
