Social Media Intern
Position Summary:
The social media intern at the American Society of Safety Engineers is instrumental in increasing our social media presence and getting visibility for our brand.
Requirements:
- Create and maintain an editorial calendar via Hootsuite
- Aggregate and/or create article content
- Communicate exciting social media news (internal and external)
- Schedule video interviews with staff & members/small businesses/providers
- Distribute content to various ASSE websites
- Monitor and engage stakeholders via various social media platforms
- Contact Social Media leads about membership/webinars/other services
- Conduct research to find and engage with social media contacts
- Track website and social media statistics; provide reporting to departments
Qualifications:
- Well-versed with Twitter, Facebook & LinkedIn
- Passionate about Social Media
- Self motivated, self confident, self determined and assertive
- Entrepreneurial, inquisitive, "need-to-know" attitude
- Ability to assess value/role/applicability of key social media vehicles
- Must be detail-oriented, team player and technologically savvy
- Fast Learner on new software/apps/sites
- Market research and strategy focus highly desirable
Must Have:
Basic understanding of the Web/Social Media landscape
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to see the big picture
- Strong written communication skills
