Safety 2012: Foundation Events & Results
At Safety 2012, the Foundation raised nearly $235,000 from forward-thinking individuals, chapters, and corporations in just four days. We’re so excited to see how we can turn that money around and use it to help our members.
On Sunday we held our Golf Outing on beautiful Fossil Trace Golf Club, where we collected more than $13,000 from our generous golfers.
At the House of Delegates meeting on Sunday afternoon, Vice-Chair Fay Feeney gave the State of the Foundation. After Feeney explained the many programs and activities the Foundation had engaged in the previous year, she closed with, “We did all of this to prepare for the future of safety, and when you partner with us, you are preparing for the future of safety too.”
In response, more than 15 chapters stood up and pledged their support to the Foundation. In a matter of minutes, the Foundation collected nearly $100,000 for the Safety Matters Fund and the 2013 scholarship and grant program.
One of the best nights of the year for the Foundation Trustees and staff is our annual Donor Reception, an opportunity for us to thank you for your generosity, support, and commitment to the future of the profession. This year proved to be an exceptional one when David H. LaCook of FabEnCo presented the Foundation with $110,000, directing his gift toward an endowed $4,000 scholarship as well as the Safety Matters Fund.
The Foundation’s events ended with the closing of our Silent Auction on Tuesday at 12 noon. Our generous donors gave us 96 items to be auctioned off, bringing in more than $11,000 for the Foundation.
Thank you again to everyone who attended Foundation events at Safety 2012 in Denver, Colorado! It is such a pleasure to spend time with our dedicated members, many of whom we now call friends.
See you in Las Vegas!
