Stephen Bennett and Treasa TurnbeaughWe both have had long and successful careers in safety & health, so we wanted to give back to the profession by donating to the ASSE Foundation’s Legacy Trust. We are believers in life long learning and the Legacy Trust provides the opportunity for us to further the education of those who are studying to join the safety & health profession and to demonstrate our commitment to our vocation. As Gilbert K. Chesterton said, “Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another.” The Legacy Trust was the obvious choice for sharing our enthusiasm for the profession with the generations to come. |

Margaret Carroll, P.E., CSPSeveral years ago when my husband and I revised our financial plans we included the ASSE Foundation in our bequests. The reasons were simple: both of us had good careers in the safety profession, and we felt that ASSE, in a direct way, and the Foundation, in a less direct way, had made it possible for us and many others to enjoy the benefits of a strong profession. We were both always grateful that we could have not only careers which were rewarding to us, but also for the enduring, strong friendships through ASSE colleagues. Our legacy is not just the contributions we made over the years, but some of the fruits of our labors which will help ensure that the safety profession and safety professionals will continue to strengthen and be enriched. It's "giving back" for those things we received. |

Tom & Erica CecichAs a young college graduate seeking a career field in 1972 I was fortunate to have been exposed to several seasoned safety professionals in the ASSE’s North Carolina Chapter. Because of the time these individuals invested to mentor me I choose a career that allowed me to make a sound living while always feeling that I was making a valuable contribution to the organizations I worked for and the people I worked with. It was a decision I never regretted for a minute and one that allowed me to sleep well at night knowing that my job was trying to keep people from getting hurt. From those early experiences I learned first hand that becoming a safety professional may not always be an obvious career choice for students to make. Now, the ASSE Foundation’s major goal is to help educate and encourage young people to enter the profession. Being a Legacy Donor is a way that I can support the future of the profession and also in a small way say “thank you” to the safety professionals that long ago patiently invested their time in me. |

Frank D'Orsi, MS, CSP, ARMThe decision for me to make a legacy gift to the ASSE Foundation was very simple. I've been fortunate to have a career in a profession that has provided me a great deal of satisfaction in so many different ways. The most important is that everyday when I get up, I have the opportunity to help someone make a difference with something that is more valuable or precious than any other thing they could possibly have, their health and safety. The masters in the profession, like Bird, Ferry, Grimaldi, Manuele and Petersen, to name just a few have paved the way for me as well as so many of our past, current and prospective new members to be successful in what we do. The association with the Society, projects and the many members met and worked with have all contributed to my success through their contributions to the development and success of the profession. The legacy gift to the Foundation that can potentially be used for providing inspiration to individuals to join the profession, providing a grant or part of a scholarship, funding for legislation that will create a safer workplace, research, etc., will be a way for me to continue to contribute to help further the development of the profession. |

Kyle B. Dotson, CIH, CSP, DEEI put the ASSE Foundation in my Will because I want to “give back”. But more than that, I believe all of us need to “give forward”. One only has to look back at the last century of our profession to see truly great men and women, and we (the after-OSHA crowd) have been lucky to stand on the shoulders of such giants. Current trends away from specialists toward EHS generalists are fine for the short-term, but the safety and industrial hygiene professions will need to attract enough of the best and brightest and educate them as specialists to take the large leaps in our professions knowledge that are bound to be needed to accompany the leaps expected in nanotech, biotech, etc. I encourage all of the senior members of the Safety Profession to find their own reasons to support future generations of safety professionals by remembering the ASSE Foundation in their Wills. It will take all of us working together to make a real difference. |

Fay Feeney, CSP, ARMI am proud to support the ASSE Foundation as a Legacy Trust donor. As a volunteer it provides me with a great opportunity to give a leadership gift to our profession. Winston Churchill expressed it well when he said, We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. |

Karl A. Jacobson, CSPWe should all strive to leave the world a little better than when we came. As SH&E professionals, we all do that naturally due to the nature of our work---saving lives and reducing loss, pain and suffering---but with the Legacy Trust, we have a chance to complete the circle by leaving a financial legacy to the profession. |

Jim Kreinbrink, CIC, CSPTwenty years ago when I graduated from college I really didn’t have a clear direction on what I wanted to do for a career. I was fortunate enough to start with a company that provided me the resources and training to develop and hone my skill-sets in a profession that allowed me to help others. The resources and training I received was largely supplemented through my involvement in the local ASSE chapter. I can’t think of a better way to give back to a profession that has been so good to me then by making a legacy gift. |

Rixio Medina, CSP, CPPI have been blessed with a satisfying and rewarding career as a safety professional. This was made possible through educational scholarships, the support of family, friends and peers, and my membership and involvement with ASSE. The Foundation Legacy Trust provides my wife, Alejandra, and I with opportunities to return some of the investments others have made in me throughout the years and to support the advancement of the safety profession. One of the Foundation’s programs that we enjoy supporting is the Medina Scholarship for Hispanics in Safety which helps address the needs of the growing Hispanic workforce in the safety profession. The Foundation aids our future colleagues in many ways and I feel fortunate to be able to help others enter the important field of safety through our contributions and support. |

Lance Roux, CSPMy decision to make a legacy gift to the ASSE Foundation was an easy one. Like many others who give, I wanted to give something back to the association which helped make my career a success. I am proud to be a donor and hope that my gift helps future safety professionals achieve their goals. |

Amy Stewart, CSPA few significant life events have caused me to reconsider how I am "spent". Perhaps after reading my story you will also consider what you might do for the future. |
