The ASSE Florida Suncoast Chapter to Host Presentation by Former OSHA Official

WHAT: The American Society of Safety Engineers’ (ASSE) Florida Suncoast Chapter will be host to a presentation by John L. Henshaw, MPH, CIH, titled “Transformational Leadership to World Class Safety.”  The presentation will provide valuable information for safety professionals, business owners and managers from all industries.

WHY: The Florida Suncoast Chapter is dedicated to providing local businesses and safety professionals with opportunities for continuing education and development.  John L. Henshaw, MPH, CIH, is the Senior Vice President, Managing Principal IH and Safety of ChemRisk Inc., a scientific consulting firm.  Henshaw also served as Assistant Secretary of Labor for the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) from 2001-2004 and has held several environmental safety and health positions during his career. Henshaw will discuss differences between transactional and transformational leadership styles and will present specific cases to demonstrate how transformational leadership is gaining favor in today’s business world.  Overall, the presentation will provide attendees with information about key safety best practices in today’s business world.
