The American Society of Safety Engineers to Offer Safety Certification Workshops in NV, VA, FL and IL

Des Plaines, IL (August 26, 2009) — In an effort to provide safety, health and environmental professionals (SH&E) with the opportunity to earn professional certifications, the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) will offer math reviews and three-day certification preparation workshops on September 20 – 26, 2009 in Reno, NV; October 4 – 10, 2009 in Virginia Beach, VA; November 8 – 11, 2009 in Miami, FL; and December 6 – 12, 2009 at ASSE headquarters in Des Plaines, IL.

According to a study by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), SH&E professionals with certifications such as the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) can earn up to $30K more per year than persons without certifications.

The September workshops will be located at the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino in Reno and will include a math review course on September 20, the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Workshop from September 21 – 23, and the CSP Workshop from September 24 – 26. In October, the workshops will be held at the Founders Inn and Spa in Virginia Beach. The math review will take place on October 4, the ASP Workshop will run from October 5 – 7, and the CSP Workshop will take place October 8 – 10.

November workshops will take place at the Hyatt Regency Miami with the math review on November 8 and the ASP and CSP Workshops both taking place on November 9 – 11. The final math workshop offered in 2009 at ASSE headquarters in IL will take place on December 6, while the ASP Workshop will take place from December 7 – 9 and the CSP Workshop will run from December 10 – 12.
