Summit Training Source Continues Support of Safety and Health Education Through the ASSE Foundation

Des Plaines, IL (January 13, 2012) — In its continued efforts to support research
and education in the occupational safety, health and environmental (SH&E)
field, Grand Rapids, MI – based Summit Training Source, Inc. has contributed
$5,000 to the American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation (ASSEF). This
grant is part of a three year pledge for a total lifetime donation to ASSEF of
more than $70,000

Over the years Summit has been committed to supporting
ASSEF programs which include college scholarships, research funding and
professional development grants.

In addition to their donations, Summit has also been a
major sponsor of the annual ASSE Foundation Golf Outing, which is held in
conjunction with the American Society of Safety Engineers’ (ASSE) annual
Professional Development Conference (PDC) and exhibition to support ASSEF
scholarship programs.

“Summit Training continues to be a leader in the support and
growth of the ASSE Foundation through scholarship donations, serving on our
board and support of our annual golf tournament,” said ASSEF Chair Eddie Greer,
CSP, OHST, STS. “Their generous donation of money and service allows us to
make a difference in the lives of students and safety professionals. And with
the recent National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) report
showing that there will soon be a major shortage of safety professionals, this
type of support is even more important as we continue to reach out not only to
existing students, but to those considering the safety profession.”
