Increasing Safety and Health in the Workplace Focus of Regional Professional Development Conference :
Atlanta, GA (April 17, 2007)
What: The 2007 Professional Development Conference (PDC), hosted by Region IV of the American Society Safety Engineers’ (ASSE), will provide ASSE members and the professional safety community with educational sessions on the leading occupational safety and health practices, strategies and regulatory issues. Region IV consists of 25 chapters throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. There will also be a half-day pre-conference seminar called “Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene Monitoring”. The course will acquaint participants with basic principles and techniques, including noise dosimetry, area sound level measurements, and airborne chemical monitoring—including active sampling and passive sampling.
