Liberty Mutual Group Continues Support of Safety Research and Education Through American Society of Safety Engineers’ Foundation
Des Plaines, IL (January 25, 2007) — The Boston-based Liberty Mutual Group recently donated $30,000 to the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Foundation in continuation of its commitment to occupational safety and health research through the support of the Liberty Mutual Research Fellowship Program.

The Foundation is currently accepting and encouraging applications for this year’s fellowship program and the deadline is February 1, 2007. Selected fellows spend four to six weeks at the Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety located in Hopkinton, MA, and receive a stipend to cover living expenses. In addition, they will write an article for the ASSE’s Professional Safety magazine on their research results.
Applicants must be United States citizens or permanent residents and possess a Ph.D. degree or be working towards a Ph.D. ASSE members and applicants enrolled or holding appointments in an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited safety program will be given special consideration.
