Dallas-based ISNetworld Establishes An ASSE Foundation Scholarship
Des Plaines, IL (January 29, 2010) — The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Foundation recently received a $2370 donation from ISNetworld, based in Dallas, Texas, to establish a scholarship for students pursuing degrees in occupational safety and health. The scholarship will be awarded this spring to an undergraduate student attending school in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana or Arkansas.
ISNetworld provides an online vendor management database designed to meet internal and governmental record keeping and compliance requirements. It collects health and safety, procurement, quality and regulatory information for more than 23,000 vendors and 135 owner clients. Through its ‘Review and Verification Services’ (RAVS), ISN’s subject matter experts review and verify vendors’ self-reported information. Vendors also use the system to manage internal training and recording keeping requirements.
“We thank ISNetworld for their generous donation and to their commitment to the occupational safety and health profession,” ASSE Foundation Manager Mary Goranson said. “While many companies and organizations are cutting costs in this economy, we are pleased to see companies like ISNetworld place value on the education of future safety professionals, especially in light of the growing demand for this profession, and provide the necessary funding to make needed scholarships available to students.”
The ASSE Foundation established by and in partnership with the American Society of Safety Engineers, generates funding and provides resources for scholarship, applied research, academic accreditation, and related academic initiatives in order to advance the safety, health, and environmental profession.
