ASSE’s Women in Safety Group Salutes Sponsors at June’s Conference
The American Society of Safety Engineers’ (ASSE) Women in Safety Engineering (WISE) common interest group will be host to a networking lounge at ASSE’s annual Professional Development Conference (PDC) and exposition to be held June 12-15 in Chicago, IL. Businesses sponsoring WISE activities at the PDC include Platinum Sponsor Travelers Insurance and Gold Sponsors PK Safety Services, Spectra Energy, the ASSE Gulf Coast Chapter, the ASSE Central Florida Chapter, the Law Office of Adele Abrams, Monsanto Company, the University of Alabama at Birmingham – School of Engineering, SPAN International, Summit Training Source and Utility Contractors, Inc. On Sunday, June 12 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. a WISE networking event will be held at the Hyatt Regency-Chicago in Columbus Room I-J where several announcements will be made The WISE lounge will be open Monday, June 13, through Wednesday, June 15, in room 22 A/B/C in the McCormick Convention Center.
This year in conjunction with ASSE’s 100th anniversary celebration in Chicago, WISE will honor the women who are part of its ‘100 Women Making A Difference in the Safety, Health and Environmental Profession’ project. This project commemorates 100 women who have historically, or are currently, making a difference through their work and dedication to protecting people, property and the environment.
The WISE group was established to foster the advancement of women in the safety, health and environmental (SH&E) profession. The group share ideas, evaluate the state of women in the SH&E profession, mentor other safety and health professionals, obtain professional certifications and facilitate networking opportunities to strengthen professional relationships.
