ASSE’s Denver Conference and Expo Breaking Records
DENVER, CO (June 6, 2012) — The American Society of Safety Engineers’ Professional Development Conference (PDC) and Exposition, Safety 2012, in Denver taking place June 3-6 at the Colorado Convention Center has set new records. The Expo was the largest ever with 504 exhibitors taking up 80,000 square feet of space. The Expo began Sunday, June 3, and ended yesterday.
As for attendance, ASSE officials note that this is the second highest number of attendees in ASSE’s conference history for the PDC with more than 4,250 attendees here in Denver. This is second only to the last ASSE PDC held in Chicago in 2011 where 4,400 people attended. This is ASSE’s 51st PDC. The first was held in Chicago in 1962. Next year’s PDC and Expo will be held in Las Vegas June 24-27.
Safety 2012 offers more than 250 educational sessions, highly recognized speakers in the occupational safety, health and environmental (SH&E) industry, technical tours, issue roundtables and the executive summit panel to be held today from 9:15 a.m. til 10:15 a.m. at the convention center in the Mile High Ballroom. The panel features executives from Denver’s Lockton Companies and PCL Enterprises as well as URENCO USA of Eunice, NM, and Quality Pork Processors from Austin, MN.
