ASSE Announces Remaining Continuing Education Opportunities for 2010
Des Plaines, IL (October 5, 2010) — In an effort to provide safety, health and environmental professionals (SH&E) with the opportunity to earn professional certifications and continued education in the SH&E field, the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) will offer math reviews for certification exams, several examination preparation workshops and a selection of continuing education seminars this October 10 – 15 in Reno, NV; October 31-November 5 in San Antonio, TX; and December 1-11 at ASSE headquarters in Des Plaines, IL.
According to a study by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), SH&E professionals with certifications such as the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) can earn up to $30K more per year than persons without certifications.
The October certification preparation workshops will be located at the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino in Reno, NV, and will include a math review for certification exams on October 10, the Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Certification Preparation Workshop October 11-13, and the CSP Certification Preparation Workshop October 14-16. Continuing education seminars for the Certificate in Safety Management include a Corporate Safety Management course October 11-13, Safety Management I October 11-13, Safety Management II October 14-15. The two sessions offered for the Executive Program in Safety Management will be Managing the Business Aspects of Safety October 11-13 and Delivering a High-Performance Safety Management System October 14-15.
The October 31 and November workshops will take place at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio in San Antonio, TX, with a math review for certification exams on October 31 and the ASP and CSP Certification Preparation Workshops both taking place on November 1-3. The continuing education opportunity for November will be the Rethink Safety Symposium which will take place November 4-5.
December workshops will take place at ASSE headquarters in Des Plaines, IL, and will include a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Exam Preparation Workshop December 1-3, a math review for certification exams on December 5, an ASP Certification Preparation Workshop December 6-8 and the final CSP Certification Preparation Workshop December 9-11.
