ASSE Announces New Program Providing Free Podcasts on Workplace Safety Topics

DES PLAINES, IL (February 2, 2012) — The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) announced today that it is providing free podcasts on a variety of occupational safety, health and environmental topics and will continue to add new offerings each month. They are available from ASSE’s virtual classroom at or from the iTunes store at

Each month ASSE provides live webinars from experts in the field of occupational safety, health and the environment enabling the participants to get the latest information on key topics and to interact with the presenters and other attendees. They also learn about new approaches to managing safety. The podcasts allow one to listen at any time and in any place.

The podcasts available are: ‘Lessons Learned from a Real World Journey – the McWane Story’; ‘Defeating the Trump Card: Legal Limits on OSHA’s Use of the General Duty Clause’; ‘Effective  Strategies for Effective Consultants’; ‘Safety Leadership – The Final Hurdle Towards Zero’; ‘Environmental Compliance for the Safety Manager’; ‘Hot Work Fire Prevention’; ‘Why Sustainability is Important to the Safety Professional’; ‘Human Performance and Learning’; and, ‘Six Safety Leadership’.
