AMERICAN SOCIETY OF SAFETY ENGINEERS OFFER CERTIFICATION PREPARATION WORKSHOPS

DES PLAINES, IL (July 18, 2006) – The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) will hold certification preparation workshops starting August 2006 until June 2007 in various U.S. locations. The workshops serve as a review to prepare individuals for certification exams.

The Math Review for Certification Exams, worth .7 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) is an intensive hands-on one-day review of math skills such as conversions, dimensional analysis, number manipulation, shapes and formulae, graphing, algebra and trigonometry. The Associate Safety Professional (ASP) Examination Preparation Workshop is a three-day workshop that reviews all six sections covered by the ASP exam. The three-day Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Examination Preparation Workshop prepares individuals for the exam by reviewing concepts of probability and statistics, engineering, applied management and legal/regulatory and professional affairs. The Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Preparation Workshop also lasts three days and prepares registrants for the CHST exam covering such topics as safety program management and administration, OSHA regulations and inspections, hazard communication, inspections and audits, accident investigation and recordkeeping requirements. The three-day Occupational Health and Safety Technologists (OHST) Examination Preparation Workshop discusses potential areas that will be covered by the OHST certification exam such as investigation (post-event), survey and inspection techniques (pre-event), control concepts and data computation. All three-day workshops are worth 2.1 CEUs.
