Seattle, WA (June 11, 2006) – American Society of Safety Engineers’ (ASSE) officials announced today that the ASSE Exposition held in conjunction with its Professional Development Conference (PDC) in Seattle at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center running from June 11 through the 14th has set a new record. Exhibitor space has sold out for the first time ever in the 24 years ASSE has been holding the Exposition. In addition, square feet sold for the ASSE event has far outpaced its record 47,500 of square feet sold for the 2005 New Orleans PDC and Exposition, selling 52,780 square feet this year.

Founded in 1911, this is ASSE’s 45th PDC. People from 33 countries are attending the conference for occupational safety, health and environmental practitioners which features more than 200 educational sessions, 40 pre-and-post seminars, an executive summit, regulatory updates from federal officials, technical tours, student activities, key issue roundtables, and more.

“More than half of the attendees at our conference are safety directors, managers and engineers,” ASSE President Jack H. Dobson, Jr., CSP, said today. “They have the purchase power and 73 percent of our attendees have 10 years or more experience in the safety, health and environmental field.”

A total of 363 exhibitors are at the 2006 ASSE PDC and Exposition, many debuting new products and services to assist companies and organizations in increasing on-the-job safety worldwide.

Founded in 1911, the Des Plaines, IL – based ASSE has more than 30,000 occupational safety, health and environmental professional members located globally who manage, supervise, research and consult on safety, health, transportation and environmental issues in all industries, government, labor and education.
