American Society of Safety Engineers’ Las Vegas Professional Development Conference Sets Another Attendance Record
Las Vegas, NV (June 10, 2008) — A total of 36 countries are represented among the more than 4000 occupational safety, health and environmental professionals and business representatives attending the largest ever American Society of Safety Engineers’ (ASSE) Professional Development Conference and Exposition, Safety 2008, this week in Las Vegas. The conference features more than 200 educational sessions, key speakers, safety issue roundtables, updates from the country’s top occupational safety and health officials along with the most up to date technical and insightful information from the experts.
Safety 2008 key speakers include Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health Edwin G. Foulke, Jr., who will be joined by Director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health John Howard, MD, for a panel session today at 1:00 p.m. Time Magazine Washington Bureau Chief Jay Carney provides a view from Washington; Arizona State Professor of Psychology Dr. Robert Cialdini will discuss the power of influence and the closing luncheon ends with a presentation by comedian Frank Miles will speak on laughing at fear.
