The ASSE Foundation Announces Available Scholarships and Professional Education Grants for 2012

The American Society of Safety Engineers’ Foundation (ASSEF) has announced the availability of nearly $170,000 in scholarships and professional education grants for the 2012 academic year, including six new scholarships and one new professional education grant.  The deadline for all applications is December 1, 2011.

ASSE Says Just Released BLS Workplace Fatalities Report Should be a Call to Action

DES PLAINES, IL (August 30, 2011) – The American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) sees the release of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ preliminary report on fatal occupational injuries for 2010 last week showing a total of 4,547 workers died from on-the-job injuries in 2010 compared with 4,551 from 2009, a call for action.
