Sunstein Leaves OIRA
The often controversial Cass Sunstein has left as Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the White House. ASSE itself weighed in on the Society’s concern (at http://www.asse.org/en/index.php/govt_affairs/asse-urges-oira-to-let-osha-silica-rulemaking-to-move-forward-so-all-stakeholders-can-be-heard/) that the Office of Management and Budget under OIRA was discussing behind closed doors a possible OSHA standard and not through the regulatory process where ASSE and its members could share expertise and perspective on the issue. A White House statement on his departure can be found at http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2012/08/03/regulatory-reformer-leaves-his-mark
