OSHA Thanks Alliance Partners for NAOSH Week Participation

Posted in on Mon, Jun 7, 2010

From OSHA Cooperative Programs, which has done amazing work helping ASSE spread the good word about NAOSH Week to the OSH community and beyond –

Thank you to the 40 Alliance Program participants who supported 2010 North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week, May 2 – 8, 2010! Sponsored annually by the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), an Alliance Program participant, and the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering, the Week focuses on the importance of preventing injuries and illnesses in the workplace.

The Alliance Program participants’ willingness to promote the Week’s events and share the message “Mission 2010: SAFE WORKPLACES” by developing and disseminating NAOSH Week-related safety and health materials through outreach efforts, including presentations, publications, Web pages, and press releases contributed to the Week’s success.

The May 3 NAOSH Week Kick-off event held here at the Department of Labor was both informative and enjoyable. Special thanks to the representatives from the following Alliances who were able to attend the Kick-off event:

• Airline Group
• American Industrial Hygiene Association
• American Pipeline Contractors Association
• American Society of Safety Engineers
• American Shipbuilding Association
• National Association of Home Builders
• National Safety Council
• Process Safety
• Safe Tank

The June 2010 edition of the Alliance Quarterly Review will feature an article about 2010 NAOSH Week and the Alliance Program participants’ support of the Week. Thanks again for your support of 2010 NAOSH Week and of the Alliance Program. We look forward to working with you in support of 2011 NAOSH Week.
