OSHA Recognizes CSPs and CIHs in Trainer Requirements

Posted in on Mon, Sep 27, 2010

OSHA has revamped Outreach Training Program requirements and recognized the value of the CSP and CIH designations in its prerequisites for becoming an authorized trainer. To become an authorized Course 500 for construction or Course 501 for general industry trainer, the requirements are now five years of safety experience, for which a college degree in occupational safety and health, a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation in the applicable training area may be substituted for two years of experience.
